Retail Gallery Artists Rules & Application

We welcome all local and Florida Artists as well as those of you that live here part of the time.  Regional artists beyond Florida may also be considered.

Once accepted, your work will be displayed in “& Gallery.”  We also hold “Meet the Artists” events on the third Saturday of each month, featuring one or more artists, and we may request your participation for an event.

Work is taken on a consignment basis.

The gallery will take 40% on items under $750 and 35% on items over $750.  If an artist is commissioned to do a piece; “& Gallery” takes 30%.  There is an annual 20% off sale which takes place after the Holidays.  Artists can choose to participate or not.  “& Gallery” will never mark prices up or down without the artist’s consent.

Domain Home Accessories & Gallery Review Committee accepts or declines work for the retail gallery based on the following criteria:

  • Design: Must show aesthetic individuality, composition quality, and reflect a unified body of work.
  • Craftsmanship: Must show evidence of capability beyond minimal technical skills and experience with materials, tools of medium, and its function.
  • Marketability: Must be priced at a realistic ratio between the value of time and materials to the artist, and value of the artwork to the customer.
  • Originality: Must be an originally conceived and constructed idea.  If an artist’s work is too similar to another’s, this may affect being accepted.

The following categories of craft or fine art may be submitted to the retail Gallery:

  • Canvas flatwork, fiber, wood, metal, glass, jewelry, and mixed media.
  • Crafts using manufactured parts, pieces, or fabrics if these materials are secondary to the total design and production of the artwork.

The following categories are NOT eligible:

  • Two dimensional artwork including drawings, giclees, prints, photographs, posters, etc. not incorporated into the aforementioned craft media (exception given to photography).
  • Works executed from commercial patterns, molds, stencils or kits of any description.  Products made solely by assemblage of purchased commercial objects, or solely by decoration of commercially produced products.

In the event that you are not accepted as a Gallery artist, your work may be considered for display in our “Functional Art for the Home” or retail portion of our store.

Work displayed in this section will be shown and sold all year round.  Domain Home Accessories& Gallery” is not a “Co-op,” though should you feel that your work would gain more attention with your presence; we welcome your help and input.
